Episode 1: Farina King and Sarah Newcomb discuss Indigenous Boarding School Experiences

Native Circles: Episode 1

Dr. Farina King (Diné) and Sarah Newcomb (Tsimshian) introduce their new podcast Native Circles and discuss Indigenous perspectives and experiences of boarding schools from Native American and First Nations’ communities.

[Photo above of Farina King’s father, Phil Smith, who attended an Indian boarding school as a child] We cannot change the history of what happened to Native American and First Nations in residential schools. However, we will honor them by remembering and learning their history and stories. And we will show compassion to those who continue to survive it.
